Cumberland County Tour

BATANS Cumberland County Tour July 27th and 28th
Registration will open Thursday, July 11 at 11:00AM.

The capacity limit for this event is 25 cars, and of course that is on a “first come, first served” basis. The capacity limit is based on a manageable number of cars and the availability of hotel rooms. During the registration process you will not "officially" register any guest(s) (we don't care how many people you have in your car or in your hotel room) :). There will, however, be a question in the registration process (for information only) to identify if you will have a guest.

After you’ve registered, book your room directly with the hotel, The Travelodge Amherst, 902-667-3331, located at 1539 Southampton Road, West Amherst, NS, B4H 3Y4. The contact at the Hotel is Sarah Gilroy. We have been quoted room rates of $119 - $139, 2 persons, includes Continental breakfast. They will open their restaurant for breakfast as well.

Maps for all segments of the tour can be found HERE

JULY 27:
To start the tour, we will meet at Café 311 (98 NS-311, North River, NS) which opens at 7.00AM.
   - We will leave there at 10:00AM to begin our tour.
   - NB. Please be sure to attend the Driver’s Meeting at 9:30AM.

This tour will take us through some hills and curves and along the scenic Northumberland Shore.
   - Do you know that these are the warmest waters North of the Carolinas?!
   - Quick stop 15 minutes in Tatamagouche (at the Log Shell Gas/Robins Donuts 1744 NS-6, Tatamagouche)

Lunch 12:25-2:00pm at What's for Dinner Route 6 Bar & Grill in Pugwash across from the firehall.
   - Then to Water Street Pugwash for Harbourfest
   - Where we will display our cars and take in festivities for 1.5 -2 hours

Then along the Sunrise Trail to the Travelodge in Amherst where we will have dinner,
    - Stay the night and enjoy breakfast
    - Before heading to the Minas Basin Shore on Sunday.

JULY 28:
We will leave at 10:00AM and head towards Parrsboro but turn towards Port Greville
   - Where we will visit the Age of Sail Museum for 60-75 minutes.

That should put us leaving there for lunch about 12:15 for the Gloosecap Restaurant
   - Leaving there 2:00-ish

We then have about a one-hour drive to Great Village to visit the Antique shops in our antique cars.
   - Stay for 30-60 minutes

Then onward to Masstown Market
   - Take your time and enjoy all that the market has to offer.

We will say our goodbyes here and everyone can then choose their favourite route home … or to their next adventure!

Thanks for the cruising and camaraderie!
